In the wake of a severe weather event that has ravaged Montgomery County and surrounding areas, Montgomery County Food Bank has mobilized its resources to provide critical aid to affected communities. Responding swiftly to the crisis, the Food Bank has already distributed several thousand pounds of water and food to emergency shelter locations across the county and is postured to support recovery efforts after the effects of the accumulated rainfall subside.

Montgomery County Food Bank works alongside volunteers, corporate and community
partners, and non-profit agencies to build a community where everyone has access to
sufficient, nutritious food. When disaster strikes, Montgomery County Food Bank is on the
ground and ready to provide food assistance and emergency supplies including water and
cleaning products.

Montgomery County Food Bank staff facilitates food delivery, including ready to eat meals and healthy snacks, to
emergency shelter locations.

The impact of this weather event is expected to endure over the coming days and weeks,
prompting the Food Bank to gear up for an even greater response. Anticipating a sustained
heightened need for assistance, Montgomery County Food Bank is preparing to distribute tens of thousands of pounds of additional food to support individuals and families affected by the storm.

In light of the escalating demand for assistance, Montgomery County Food Bank issues a
heartfelt appeal to the community for support. Your generous food and monetary donations
ensure the Food Bank is able to provide essential assistance during this critical time of need.
Donations to Montgomery County Food Bank will enable the organization to continue its vital
duty of providing nourishment and sustenance to neighbors during this time of crisis. Every
contribution, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in the collective effort to fight hunger and feed hope in our community.

Donations can be dropped off at 1 Food For Life Way, Conroe, TX
Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am – 3:30 pm.
The most needed items are:

  • Cash donations- every $1 donated provides up to 4 meals
  • Ready to Eat Meals- beef ravioli, canned soups, pork & beans, preferably pull top
    or easy-open
  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Vegetables or fruit- preferably pull top or easy-open such as fruit cups
  • Canned Tuna, Salmon, or Chicken- preferably pull top or easy open such as
    pouches
  • Hot and Cold Cereal- oatmeal, cheerios, corn flakes, raisin bran
  • Healthy Snacks- raisins, granola bars, crackers
  • Toiletries- soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, toilet paper,
    hygiene items
  • Cleaning Supplies- household cleaners with bleach, buckets, trash bags, paper
    towels

Montgomery County Food Bank’s mission is to unite the community to fight hunger. Last year we were able to provide over 9.6 million nutritional meals through our vast network of over 70 partner pantries, local school districts, and community partners. We work in partnership with retailers and wholesalers to provide a solution for food waste by rescuing food that would otherwise go to the landfill. As a part of our green initiatives program, we operate an onsite Produce Rescue Center that allows us to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables which emphasizes the importance of sustainability and promotes healthy food choices. Our vision of a community where everyone has access to sufficient, nutritious food is possible through the support of our volunteers and our community and corporate partners.
